The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience accessibility testing native mobile applications on iOS and Android. We are looking for someone that has an extremely high attention to detail. You have the ability to understand/explain technical issues and their implications for projects and business decisions, facilitate discussion/resolution of problems and able to mentor others. As Accessibility Test Engineer, you’ll: Develop best practices for testing accessibility on the company’s iOS and Android applications and coach cross-functional teams in remediation of identified defects. Support accessibility testing provided by the client’s center of excellence by explaining reports and coaching cross-functional teams in remediation of identified defects. Work with a diverse team of product owners, product designers and developers in a fast paced environment, with quick iterative cycles. Act as a subject matter expert on digital accessibility, including web content accessibility guidelines. Act as an internal testing/QA consultant during office hours and through a dedicated Slack channel to ensure compliance with digital accessibility guidelines, standards and regulations. Connect the company with external beta testing teams of disabled users and helped develop the user personas used to define inclusion when assessing the creation of new products. Provide feature requests for inclusive features in the app, both of original design and also coming from direct user feedback. Requirements 2+ years of experience accessibility testing native mobile applications on iOS and Android 4+ years of experience working collaboratively with product teams to develop, maintain and implement applications, regarding digital accessibility technologies, policies, standards and best practices Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and VPATs Experience with screen readers and assistive technology Expert using various automated testing tools Experience with debugging, able to convey/explain bug causes and a11y concepts to non a11y subject matter experts using minimal step reproduction cases Experience using task and ticket management tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) Excellent/effective communication skills with a passion for quality and driving results Ability to interact/influence stakeholders from all levels of the organization Experience partnering with multiple user experience disciplines (e.g. research, design, engineering) and understands their techniques and processes IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) is a plus Commitment:This is a part-time, 8-month contract position staffed via HireArt.
