Location New York, NY Expected pay rate $60.00 per hour Schedule Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (Must be on-site for majority of the week but flexible having candidates working 1 or 2 days from home, remote) Assignment length 11-month contract Job description Our company is helping a leading fintech firm hire a Senior Product Designer to optimize existing site features based on heuristic analysis, competitive analysis and user feedback. In this role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders and developers to create accessible, world-class interactive experiences. You will use Figma to produce low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity comps and other design documentation. The ideal candidate will be creative and resourceful while designing in a systematic way to lay the groundwork for high-velocity distributed development. This person is a strategic thinker who will design with intentionality and business outcomes in mind. As Senior Product Designer, you will: Create user interface design including, low-fidelity wireframes, polished design comps and interactive prototypes to support the business objectives of the company. Collaborate with product stakeholders and developers to ensure that designs reflect business objectives and are properly rendered across browsers/devices. Create/manage conventions and patterns intended to be shared across product teams. Partner in the design process as well as engage in the business objectives and user goals that drive product improvements. Constantly learn as core web technologies evolve. Perform as a member of a distributed team, able to collaborate with individuals seamlessly across disciplines and time zones. Requirements 5+ years of experience as a user experience design lead, with a portfolio that includes live consumer-facing products. Experience creating design artifacts for business stakeholders and developers, including low-fidelity wireframes, development-ready comps, and interactive prototypes. Experience using Figma for design production of a responsive website. Qualitatively-inclined – able to process subjective inputs like user feedback, able to intuitively assess how to improve a user experience through UI design and information architecture. Quantitative when necessary – able to use Google Analytics and other quantitative tools to augment decision-making. Detail-oriented and decisive about the layout details that make an experience – from the core structure of margin and padding to the finer points of typography and transitions. Experience with WCAG standards and how to design for accessibility. Experience working with a design system (e.g. PatternLab, Storybook) with the ability to consider a holistic product roadmap while maintaining focus on the success of a single feature or user flow. Strong design sensibility, with a grasp of key concepts of typography, color and layout Familiarity with Agile development methodology Familiarity with the Drupal content management system (if not Drupal specifically, experience with development for a large, component-oriented responsive website) Experience designing annotated wireframes to drive development is preferred Knowledge of interactive design techniques via JavaScript, CSS animation and use of vector graphics is preferred. Commitment: _This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 11-month contract position. It will be onsite and available to candidates local to the New York, NY area.
